Bandit Bikes is a custom bike shop specializing in repair, service and custom bike builds.
I am currently trying to open up an online store through ecrater to offer everyone quality riding clothes and accessories.
My name is Michael Smith and my road name is Bandit. Its funny how I got tagged with that. I was around 11 years old when it happen. I grew up in Southeast Texas where some Bandido’s lived near by. When they had party’s sometimes I would slip away and go. They where always fun. LOL Anyway I was at a Mom and Pop grocery store and got caught stealing a Comic Book. The owner took me by the ear and was escorting me out when the President of the club was walking in. The Bandido asked the old man what was wrong. The owner told him and stated he was taking me to my Dad who owned a business just down the street. The Bandido told him to turn me loose and leave me alone. Which he did then the Bandido looked at me and said your just a lil Bandit. So there you go. Always had respect for those guys. My ole man would have beat me half to death.
I had built several Bikes but usually lost them in divorce, wrecks or whatever. In 2004 I commissioned a builder in Tulsa to build a bike for me because I never had time to do it. (I was driving a truck at night and just didn’t have time.) I watched him dick with it for about a year. He’d put parts on then take them off. I had paid him up front so I wanted my bike. When I had enough I went and picked it up. I had a frame, front end, motor and transmission. I would pull it out of the garage on weekends work on it and put it back till the next weekend. It took about a year I guess. It was slow but worth it, I do every thing right. In 2006 I Titled the bike and it became the Bandit Bike. I’ve won a lot of trophies and had it in a lot of photo shoots. One of the most memorial was in Tombstone AZ. In the Crystal Palace Saloon. The owner asked my guys and I to stay over so she could get models and photograph it. Man what a weekend.
My friends and I do a “Freedom Ride” each May at Labor Day weekend. Any guy can come . We ride for a week. Just NO GIRLS allowed. It’s a time for friends to grow stronger together. I think next May we are riding to San Antonio, Texas. Who knows after that. We take turns choosing.
Because I had been screwed out of about eight grand. I figured Tulsa could use a good honest, fair bike builder. Some folks have trust issues with small shops at Bandit Bikes our customers are our friends. That’s how the shop evolved. And Bandit Bikes is building quality rides at a fair price.
